Hello! Welcome to Second Grade! My name is Stephanie Schannuth, and I love teaching second grade.  This year promises to bring much excitement, learning and growing together.  I can't wait to get started!

Here is a little bit about me....

I am a native born Coloradan. I attended Abilene Christian University in Texas to get my Elementary Education teaching degree and quickly moved back here to do my student teaching. I started teaching at PCK in the Spring of 1996. I taught for 6 years before deciding to work part time while my children were little. For the next 15 years I worked as a Science/Math teacher to 3rd and 4th grade students who are homeschooled. During this time I also volunteered often at PCK (since my own children attended here), and substitute taught from time to time. It was a perfect solution to being able to stay home with my kids while they were little and still be able to teach. I rejoined PCK in 2017 as a Tier Two Interventionist teacher. I enjoyed working with small groups of students and working with the PCK community once again. I am now in my 7th year teaching 2nd grade, and look forward to getting to know you and your child.

My husband and I have been married for 28 years and have 3 children. Our 24 year old son is a CPA,  working in Denver for a family business. Our 22 year old daughter got married this summer and is finishing her nursing program at Biola University in LA. We also have a son that is in eighth grade here at PCK.  We enjoy the outdoors, hiking and attending sporting events. I love to cook, read, and spend time with friends and family in my free time.

I am passionate about teaching! I believe in making children feel safe and loved while learning and growing together. Together we will foster an environment where everyone can learn socially, emotionally and academically. At PCK, we strive for excellence. In our classroom we will do that together with high standards, learning from mistakes, and lots of love!

Thank you for partnering with me this year, it's going to be a great adventure!
